Television Broadcast Engineer

"Engineering Swiss Army Knife"

SBE certified Television Broadcast Engineer currently residing in Pinellas Park, Florida.

With over 30 years of Broadcast Engineering experience, my specialty is being an "Engineering Swiss Army Knife". I stay up to date on all styles of broadcasting from radio to television to satellite. I am comfortable working at the workbench, at the transmitter site, in the office. I am personable and can work in any environment.

My experiences range from transmitter/tower construction, station/studio construction, transmitter maintenance (VHF, UHF, satellite), broadcast server installation and maintenance (Omneon specifically), LAN administration, and most every other large, small, and odd job associated with Broadcast Engineering at the station through network level. I am acutely aware of station needs during the TV Repack after taking the lead role for WFTS TV28.

I own my own business as a Contract Engineer working primarily with low-power stations, home recording studios, and general A/V maintenance for local A/V rental companies. Evenings and weekends I freelance with various production and news trucks throughout the state of Florida, and do sound and staging for local bands and concerts. If you are in need of a Front of House, monitor mixer, video or tape operator, A2, grip, EIC or E2, please drop me a note and we can arrange the booking.

I am available on fairly short notice in the Tampa Bay/West Central Florida area. Other areas statewide or out of state I would need more notice for a booking. You can check my freelance availability on my public Google Calendar "PTG Freelance".
